Resolved Question: Garth Brooks Greatest Artist All Time?
Anyone Agree, I do think so, he done so many great things from music to tv to his concerts from 1989 when a cowboy from oklahoma debuted on austin city limits with much too young “to feel this damn old” what a great song my fav to this day. He tore up the 90’s with songs and number one hits, great duets, awesome concerts from Ireland in 1997 and Central park in new york and then his tribute to george jones in 2000 or 2001 and then his salute to dale earnhardt and 9/11 after these things took place in 2001. I think he truely is the best ever and with him coming back to do concerts for a few weeks a year thru 2014 in Las vegas at wynns starting next weekend, and ive heard rumor of a 2015 tour and full time career back in country music and we need it. Look when garth came back with “More than memory” “Good Ride Cowboy” “Workin For A Livin” “Midnight Sun” real country sounds i thought i was in the 90’s again. Well my take on this give me yours love to hear from ya!
All you haters go listen to your taylor swift trash and listen to some real country by garth brooks

Open Question: Are these universities considered “southern”?
What I mean by southern is, Will you hear a lot of southern accents? Is country music popular on campus? Do students wear sundresses, boat shoes, and sunglasses with croakies the way they do in the south? Is the campus politically conservative?

I am curious about the following universities:

University of Texas at Austin
University of Virginia
University of Kentucky
West Virginia University
University of Florida
Miami University of Ohio
University of Oklahoma

speak for whichever ones you know about, but don’t speculate. I’ve already done that!
Be sure you answer the question I asked. Yes, I can visit the school, but I’m pretty sure it is slightly quicker and cheaper to just ask on here and see what people say.
Alex’s answer is a good example of one that does NOT answer the question. I KNOW that not everyone in the south does the things I describe, but it is a TREND that is seen MORE in the south than anywhere else. All I want to know is if those schools are southern or not, not a sociological analysis of southern habits.

Open Question: Broadway Show Critiques?
I recently missed a week of School. For my theater class, to make up class, you have to write a critique of a show that was on Broadway and is now on DVD. I’m supposed to choose 2 from a list and 2 of my own for a total of 4. I choose RENT and Moulin Rogue for my free picks, but my sister took the DVDs to college with her, so I can’t watch them. The only one from the list I got a hold of was Oklahoma. This is what the teacher said to me in an email:

Here’s the list:

Chicago - 2002 - PG-13
Noises Off - 1992 - PG-13
Phantom of the Opera - 2005 - PG-13
Oklahoma (Hugh Jackman version) 1999 Not Rated
Carousel - 1956 version Not Rated
Brighten Beach Memoirs - 1986-Jonathan Silverman PG-13
The Odd Couple - 1968 - G
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe - 1966 - Not Rated but has some adult language
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - 1958 - Not Rated but has adult themes
Streetcar named Desire- 1951 - PG with some adult themes

These are all Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning Plays and Oscar nominated movies. There is a mix between musical and straight plays (no music or dancing). I chose these because they are the best of the best and therefore you may learn something while you are watching. I prefer that the write ups are one page typed. Focus on acting and directing, costumes and make-up, lighting and set design and how all of that impacted the story being told. Theater is not just about the story, but the experience of living that story with the actors for a little while.
i don’t need the whole critique. just enough details to put one together. don’t write up an entire critique, that would be bad. just details on costumes and make up and acting and directing and set design and lighting and such will be perfectly fine. and possibly a small summary as a baseline so i can put how it all comes together to tell the story better. i’m not asking to do my work for me, i just need the information to do it.
umm the point is i can’t get a hold of the movies to watch them.
I have Moulin Rouge down now as well as Phantom of The Opera and Oklahoma. All I need is enough details to put together a critique on RENT.
